 Re: AFT Top 10 Movies
Overall an interesting mix. No Gone Girl, Grand Budapest, Theory of Everything, or A Most Violent Year, but Sniper/Into the Woods/Foxcatcher/Nightcrawler all making in. A BP nom for Whiplash is looking increasingly likely.
The four BP locks are Boyhood/Birdman/Imitation Game/Selma. Anything else could happen IMO.

 Re: AFT Top 10 Movies
Gone Girl missing is a shocker, IMO. The Theory of Everything is completely British, while The Imitation Game is a co-production with the USA, so that explains it. The Grand Budapest Hotel could be not American enough to qualify as well (it is a British-German-US-co-production). But there is no excuse for Gone Girl.

Yes, the absence of Gone Girl is surprising.
Glad they did not snub Foxcatcher.

 Re: AFT Top 10 Movies
last year they included Saving Mr. Banks, Inside Llewyn Davis and Fruitvale Station so I'm guessing the couple that won't make the Oscar cut for Picture are Unbroken and Into the Woods/Interstellar.

I looked at some previous years and honestly that is a really bad sign for Gone Girl's chances. Even The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo made it on there.

I'm glad Into the Woods is on there , but it will need to be a masterpiece for any major Oscar consideration.
