Which of the Globes' Best Picture (Comedy) nominees--
would you truly classify first and foremost as a comedy? As in, hypothetical conversation:
Person A: What type of movie is it? You: A couple different vibes, I guess, but mainly funny. A comedy.
Or:
Person A: I love funny movies. Recommend me one? You: ...

Wolf of Wall Street I guess? It's really a joke that these are in this categories.
haven't seen August Osage County yet but is that even a comedy?

You could call it a very dark comedy. It is from the same playwright/screenwriter as Killer Joe, and though obviously less violent, it has a similar sense of humor.

I'd consider Wolf of Wall Street, Nebraska and Her comedies.
American Hustle and August are dramas.

1. Wolf
Though none of these are really comedy films. They fall under the dramedy category. Wolf did have the most moments that gave the audience I watched it with full on laughter.

Any or all of their inclusions, especially American Hustle, feels like it's the studio not wanting to compete with 12 Years a Slave in Drama.
