The Master took another hit obviously. Moonrise Kingdom also missed.

This is a pretty crowded category with a lot of worthy nominees. Think Anna Karenina, Les Miserables, and Lincoln are safe. Then the other two could be anybody's guess.

How is the Dark Knight Rises a fantasy setting?

Yes, The Dark Knight Rises does seem out of place in its category. If it is a fantasy film, so is Skyfall, honestly.

The Master is so dead, lol. It is completely absent from the actual industry awards.

Anna Karenina's art direction will be legendary, so yay for its recognition here and also its inevitable Oscar nomination. :D I am also glad to see Cloud Atlas when they could have easily gone for The Avengers, The Hunger Games, Mirror Mirror, Snow White and the Huntsman, etc.

Winners: Anna Karenina, Life of Pi, Skyfall.

Anna Karenina looks to be the frontrunner for Art Direction at the Oscar after beating Les Miserables here, although I'm hoping for a Life of Pi upset.

60% of Life of Pi takes place on a raft...there isn't much art direction to speak of, honestly, especially compared to Les Mis or Anna Karenina.

As much as I love Life of Pi, Pi can go drown in a bowl of curry butternut squash soup when it comes to competing against Anna Karenina. ;) Anna Karenina for the win.
