The Blair Witch Project
The Blair Witch ProjectQuote: The Blair Witch Project is a 1999 American horror mockumentary film pieced together from amateur footage, filmed in real time. The film was produced by the Haxan Films production company. The film relates the story of three student filmmakers (Heather Donahue, Joshua Leonard, and Michael C. Williams) who hiked into the Black Hills near Burkittsville, Maryland to film a documentary about a local legend known as the Blair Witch, and disappeared. The viewers are told that the three were never seen or heard from again, although their video and sound equipment (along with most of the footage they shot) was discovered a year later. This "recovered footage" is presented as the film the viewer is watching.
A studio production film based on the theme of The Blair Witch Project was released on October 27, 2000 titled Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2. Another sequel was planned for the following year, but did not materialize. On September 2, 2009, it was announced that co-directors Eduardo Sanchez and Daniel Myrick were pitching the sequel.

It was not scary, and a little over-hyped to me, but I still enjoyed it (similar to Open Water).
I'd give it a B+.

was great the first time...would have given an A...
I was lucky enough to see it opening day when it was released limited in only like 4 theatres in the US before anyone had seen it or knew anything about it... I actually thought it was real like everyone else did for 2 weeks before it expanded wide and the "truth" came out...
I saw it again knowing the truth and hated it, it lost everything it had going for it...If you knew it was fake it wasnt as much fun...C-

My brother was pissed to find out it was all a big lie. They even interviewed one of them on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee. I mean it was bad enough to hear it was fake, but to have them promoting it and crap.
First time I saw it, I thought it was all right, but nothing spectacular. Terribly overrated. I haven't seen it again, but might someday. Grade: C+
The second one looked plain awful.

Don't get me started on this movie. I hate it. It bored me to death and didn't offer anything creepy or scary...

This definetely isn't a movie for everyone. I for one think it's a very creepy movie. After the first half hour, it just gets creepy. Then the last twenty minutes were just intense and actually scary. Films normally don't scare me but this is one that did.
10/10 (A+)

Not bad, but it certainly shouldn't have made as much as it did. It turned into a cult classic somehow, though.

It's a great idea an execution, but completely overrrated, and boring at times.

Original concept, revolutionary marketing, but an average movie. C.
