This was pretty disappointing. I just happened to come across it on TV and read that it was well received but it turns out it's something I may as well have skipped. It does have something artsy to it, by having very little dialogue and thus it's trying to let the images speak for themselves. But I can't say it works, it's quite monotonous, working with pretty static views and offering not much in terms of a score either. It's interesting from the perspective of comprehending the vastness of people in China and their production capacity. But it's lacking story and and in the end is just nothing special.
