One of the most dour and depressing films I’ve ever seen. Very powerful from a technical and narrative perspective but dang is parts of this hard to sit through. I think they could have made the animation a little more pleasant to look at so as to make the film not so hard to watch. I understand they did it to match the films super dark tone, but it didn’t make it more accessible and I can’t imagine anyone but the biggest letterboxd cinephile could truly find this film a pleasant experience
