 Mufasa: The Lion King  Quote: Mufasa: The Lion King is an American musical drama film directed by Barry Jenkins from a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the film is photorealistically animated, and both a prequel and sequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 film The Lion King. Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter reprise their roles from the remake; new cast members include Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Tiffany Boone, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Lennie James, Anika Noni Rose, and Blue Ivy Carter in her feature film debut.

Re: Mufasa: The Lion King As Sonic is still a week from release we went to see Mufasa and its a pleasant surprise. A likeable film that hits the right beats with great visuals and solid story. Music isn't memorable though. I haven't seen the 2019 remake so not tainted by it.

Re: Mufasa: The Lion King Mufasa is an improvement on the 2019 Lion King, with more fluid animation, exciting action sequences and decent songs from Manuel Miranda. Its plot doesn’t quite justify giving a backstory to Mufasa, even if it avoids a few obvious cliches that were possible.
