 Hit Man
Quote: Hit Man is a 2023 American romantic black comedy film produced and directed by Richard Linklater, who co-wrote the screenplay with Glen Powell, based on the 2001 Texas Monthly magazine article of the same name by Skip Hollandsworth. The film stars Powell, Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio, and Retta, and follows an undercover New Orleans police contractor who poses as a reliable hitman as he tries to save a woman in need.

 Re: Hit Man
Loads of fun, but also original, romantic and well acted. I was a little bit worried about high expectations with this, but I got more and more into it as it went a long. Powell just gives a great performance, with the different hit man personas (love his Patrick Bateman take), but he just nails the two main personalities of Ron and Gary too. And Arjona is sexcellent too, I used to (still do?) mix her up with Eiza Gonzalez, but I don't think I will anymore, great role from her in this. This sets itself apart for me with how it mixes its dark macabre elements with rom-com, just very well done. Another small masterpiece from Linklater, once again proving he's one of the great directors of his time.

 Re: Hit Man
I enjoyed it. Glen Powell won me over, great performance(s) here. By the end I felt a little hollow about the whole thing, like, what / why? But well made and performed.
Bish, maybe B+

 Re: Hit Man
Watched this again on streaming and it's still just as great and one the best of the year in every aspect. Too bad this didn't get more love with the awards, hope enough will have seen this for the annual KJ's.

 Re: Hit Man
Delivered on the sexy/cool factor like Powell's Out of Sight with him and the smoking Arjona having great chemistry, and the busts outside of the non storyline were all good from the first one and it was fun seeing him in costume for the smaller ones. I'm not sure I liked the ending though and him actually doing the thing, I felt like the running philosophy speeches did more to explain why he got off on being Ron instead of Gary than dive into Woody Allen drama type theme about morality that the ending justifies.
