 The Bone Collector
The Bone Collector Quote: The Bone Collector is a 1999 thriller film starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie, directed by Phillip Noyce and produced by Martin Bregman.
The movie was based on a crime novel written by Jeffery Deaver, concerning the quadriplegic detective Lincoln Rhyme. It was the first book of the Lincoln Rhyme series.

Decent thriller. I didn't think the last 30 minutes were all that interesting, but the rest of the film is quite solid. Denzel and Angelina both give good performances here.

This film's twist always reminds of those riddles that are impossible to figure out.

I actually thought it was very good. Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie both delivered solid performances and the movie itself was intense and compelling.

I found Phillip Noyce to be a pretty good director. This, The Saint, Patriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger are all solid films in my opinion
This, better than the Saint, but not as good as his Jack Ryan films. B+

A-
I think, aside from Se7en, Red Dragon and Scream, this is my favorite serial killer flick. I just loved the whole concept of it. Jolie, before her diva days, is quite good and Denzel is, well, Denzel. The twist at the end was pretty good, the deaths innovative and gruesome and the suspense present most of the time. Very entertaining, IMO and much better than the likes of Taking Lives etc.

 Re: The Bone Collector
This and Salt, Noyce and Jolie are a good combo, I hope they do a third together soon, and not wait 10 years in between.

 Re: The Bone Collector
I found this one dead dull - - I saw it and forgot about it 10 minutes later. Misfire.

 Re: The Bone Collector
I enjoyed this when I saw it in the cinema when it came out. I recently just rewatched it and it still holds up pretty well to me. I love the score, Jolie is in good in it and Washington, well he makes every film better, but they aren't exactly their best roles. I still enjoy them in this, but I find the rest of the cast outshines them, Ed O'Neil and Michael Rooker are great. But the story is what I like most about the film, I've read some say or consider this a Se7en rip-off and certainly it's not as good as that, but on it's own I still think it does a pretty effective job. The villian is only a bit predictable/ a letdown I guess, so like the opposite of Se7en. Anyway, Noyce crafts a thriller well and naybe because my nostalgia to this film now and it's era I like it even a bit more than when I first saw it.
