 Re: Heretic
Overall I really liked this, though it drags a bit in the middle and becomes a bit too talky. The performances are fantastic across the board and there are a few genuinely creepy and unsettling moments and surprises. Chloe East and Sophie Thatcher are fantastic as is Hugh Grant and I really dug the production design too. B+

 Re: Heretic
Deconstructing religion was cool, and the stand out part for me. Hugh Grant is decent but not brilliant. I think he should have been more overtly evil, but he constantly winds himself in. The film takes forever to move on, and once it's accepted that Hugh is up to no good the film doesn't really know how to conclude. It halfheartedly tries to be clever and make sense of the build-up. I just didn't really buy it. It's a shame because it's such a good template and environment for an awesome horror.

 Re: Heretic
Great performances and the first 2/3s were well done and compelling. Last act... eh. Didn't fully work but didn't ruin the movie.

 Re: Heretic
Solid 7/10. Good atmosphere, kept me engaged, but the ending felt a little rushed.

 Re: Heretic
If I wanted to sit through a theology class and have hot religious girls ignore me, I'd go back to college and get my masters and waste that degree just like I did my bachelor's. At least Grant is more charismatic than any teacher I ever had.
