 Megalopolis  Quote: Megalopolis is a 2024 American epic science fiction drama film written, directed, and produced by Francis Ford Coppola. It features an ensemble cast including Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Shire, Jason Schwartzman, Kathryn Hunter, Grace VanderWaal, Chloe Fineman, James Remar, D. B. Sweeney, and Dustin Hoffman. Set in an imagined modern United States, it follows Cesar Catilina (Driver), a visionary architect, as he clashes with the corrupt Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Esposito) in determining how to rebuild the metropolis of New Rome after a devastating disaster. Strange film both in acting and story. Didn't hate it and I cdrtainly found some aspects interesting but a mess nonetheless.

Re: Megalopolis Borderline unwatchable at points but also strange and fascinating at others. It's really apparent this was a self-funded passion project where absolutely nobody said the word "no". It's like if The Room had cost $100M.

Re: Megalopolis Simultaneously a must watch for any film fan and awful. Barrabás mentioned it, but it's clear no one told him no, except maybe the special effects team that quit on Coppola because he was such an asshole.
I hope all the passion projects from our greats get made, even if they suck as hard as this did.

Aubrey Plaza understood the assignment. And is Adam Driver starting to become a curse? He'll help get your passion project made, but it's either going to suck and bomb, or be pretty good but still bomb (Ferrari).
