Pretty much a dime a dozen film, I'm not sure what made them decide to develop it the way they did. With a bigger star in the Liam Hemsworth role this could probably be a bit better and more appealing, but having said that, the final product is not bad as is.
It's actually pretty well made, it's budget is well spend, but also still surprising me that they thought it would be a good idea to put $20m in this. The story is basically bland and predictable that I'm not sure how they saw potential in it, but again, the execution is good and in the end despite the film's lesser appealing features it balances it out with some decent action and acting that makes it actually a good watch all together.
It remains nice to see Crowe at work, and it's just that this is confusing to me from a production side, but as a viewing experience alone it finds a way to succeed after all.
