Ferrari
Quote: Ferrari is a 2023 American biographical sports drama film directed by Michael Mann and written by Troy Kennedy Martin. Based on the 1991 biography Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, the Races, the Machine by motorsport journalist Brock Yates, the film follows the personal and professional struggles of Enzo Ferrari, the Italian founder of the car manufacturer Ferrari S.p.A., during the summer of 1957. Adam Driver portrays the titular subject, and co-stars Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Sarah Gadon, Gabriel Leone, Jack O'Connell, and Patrick Dempsey.

Re: Ferrari
Excellent film with a fantastic performance from Cruz. I don't think it's particularly the most interesting story, if anything the script just isn't that strong, but Mann is a visionary, the film is beautiful to look at and I wasn't bored for a second.

B+ for me. It could and should have been better and this is mainly the script. The acting is good though. Penelope Cruz is just amazing. The visuals are stunning. A beautiful film.
As a motor racing fan I did like the racing sequences as they felt real and dangerous (as they were back then). They also didnt feel fake as many racing films of today do (even good ones like Ford V Ferrari)

Re: Ferrari
Yeah, the visuals in this film are great and it's just a shame it's not matched by a more epic story. Ford v Ferrari is a bit like the opposite, visually not bad, but it was the story, and I loved the score too, that drove that film. Equally good acting in both film and I rate them equally. My favorite racing movie ever is Rush, still not seen anything that has the complete package like that film since.

Re: Ferrari
Thought I had already reviewed this but I guess not. The race scenes, sound and way Adam Driver walks are all great. And THAT SCENE at the end is fucking crazy if you don't know your racing history (which I do not.)
The Italian accents from Driver, Cruz and Woodley are horrible. Doesn't hurt the movie too much but could never be a classic because of it.
