 Death on the Nile
Quote: Death on the Nile is an upcoming mystery thriller film directed by Kenneth Branagh from a screenplay by Michael Green, based on the 1937 novel of the same name by Agatha Christie. Produced by Branagh, Ridley Scott, Judy Hofflund and Kevin J. Walsh, the film is a sequel to Murder on the Orient Express (2017) and stars Branagh returning as Hercule Poirot, along with Tom Bateman (also returning from the first film), Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, and Letitia Wright round out the ensemble cast.

 Re: Death on the Nile
Liked this more than Murder on the Orient Express tbh. The film looks great, cast for the most part is good, especially Branagh and I was interested all the way through.

Nice. Was hoping to hear that this was better than the first.

 Re: Death on the Nile
Slightly better than the first, but the character intros were a bit rushed and at parts it was hard to follow exactly what happened.

 Re: Death on the Nile
It's not bad and I think I like it a bit more than Orient Express, though it still has similar issues. It's a pretty slow and long winding film, longer than Orient Express even. It has so much set-up, yet the characters remain thin throughout. I like the WWI Poirot intro, that was a bit different and interesting and the shots of the Nile and the late 1930's setting is quite pretty and vivid. Just it ever so feels that the story would come to much better fruition as a play, or even the book may be imaginative. But in the form of this film it feels cold and sluggish, even though they try to intersect aspects of emotion and reveal into it, they don't carry any heft. The cast is kind of hit or miss, Emma Mackey is one of the hits.

 Re: Death on the Nile
This was boring and the performances were pretty terrible across the board with the exception of Emma Mackey. C-

This was even better on second watch. So transporting and very fun to watch it a second time for the clues you missed the first time.
