 Cherry (2021)
Quote: Cherry is a 2021 American crime drama film directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Angela Russo-Otstot and Jessica Goldberg, based on the novel of the same name by Nico Walker. The film stars Tom Holland, Ciara Bravo, Jack Reynor, Michael Rispoli and Jeff Wahlberg, and follows an Army veteran who resorts to robbing banks to support his opioid addiction.

 Re: Cherry (2021)
Tom Holland is fantastic in this, but it feels really unfocused and its way too damn long. The Russo's could have easily cut out about half an hour of this and it honestly wouldn't have made much of difference IMO.
I love what they brought to the MCU, but they ain't perfect and it shows here and outiside of the solid performances and the stylish direction there isn't much about this that's memorable unfortunatey.

Ciara Bravo is actually quite wonderful in this film but it's a complete mess. Tom Holland tries his best but is woefully miscast and the movie itself is exhausting in its tonal shifts and stylistically inane. I don't know what the Russos were going for here but it didn't work. C-

 Re: Cherry (2021)
This was boring as hell and Russos were trying too hard to direct the hell out of this and end up failing to tell a compelling story. Its just difficult to route for any of the characters (aside from Reynor) or the situation here because the characters keep making stupid decisions time over time. Also with so much stealing going around I was so surprised that they were in THAT much debt and the end was just too weird without any emotional resonance. Ciara Bravo is the best here but she looks too young for this kind of role and while Holland does his best I agree he is miscast for this role. It starts well but after first 30 minutes there is still another 2 hours left and I was just bored.

Holland is painfully miscast. He really did give it his all here which I appreciated but he's not believable at all, I actually felt bad for him as I know he's talented.
I forgot to say that Jack Reynor (who I didn't recognize for a while) was quite solid.
