It had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on 12 September 2020. It was released in Denmark on 24 September 2020 by Nordisk Film, and was shown at the Adelaide Film Festival in October 2020.[3] It was selected as the Danish entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards.

Its slow to begin but it escalates nicely in the second half and brings out the devastation and reasons how once descends into the alcoholism. Mads Mikkelsen is great in here who makes the movie alone worth watching, the supporting cast is also good here. The finale has is bittersweet which was the perfect ending for this kind of movie. The only complaint I had is the middle half which wasn't as convincing is the first and third.

I like how Another Round explores human's relationship with alcohol without pointing any fingers or casting blame. Sometimes it's great and makes people like you more, sometimes it's bad and makes people like you less. It can give your life a purpose or take it away entirely. The movie is funny at points and heavy at others, but I think it sticks to a very practical look at its core subject, just as if it were an actual expirment and not just an excuse to drink all the time.
