It takes a great true life effort and concept and turns it into a generic romantic thriller that works neither as a love story nor serves the true purpose of the concept. Most of the time is spent in the leads spending time knowing each other besides sun-kissed beaches or bickering over drives but none of this works because the story and characters aren't interesting enough to run through the movie, the conflict in their love story is also generic and resolves itself too soon. The Operation Christmas Drop and the effort from these soldiers is handled nicely, there is good amount of screen time given explaining the whole process (although in the background) and the problems that arise from this operation, maybe a documentary on this topic would work better if its already not created.

Both Kat Graham and Alexander Ludwig do fine and have a passable chemistry but nothing that any of the actors haven't done in the past.

C
