 Yes, God, Yes  Quote: Yes, God, Yes is a 2019 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Karen Maine and starring Natalia Dyer. It is Maine's directorial debut, based on her 2017 short film of the same name also starring Dyer. The film premiered at the SXSW Film Festival on March 8, 2019. It was released in selected drive-in theaters and virtual cinemas on July 24, 2020, before launching digitally and on video on demand on July 28, 2020.

Re: Yes God Yes This was such a treat. Natalia Dyer is great in here. Its not laugh out funny but a pretty good take on coming-of-age comedy. The turmoils of a teenager are heightened by Catholic setting and those Titanic references

Re: Yes God Yes I loved this! Super fresh and funny, and I agree Natalia Dyer is great here. With such a short running time too it really flies by. It's like Saved for a new generation. Also, with that movie in mind the needle drop at the end with the end credits song is absolutely hilarious. I actually rewound it because I died laughing

Re: Yes God Yes One might think they've seen this a movie a hundred times before, but in 99 of those 100 movies the main character is gay. And in 98 of those movies they commit suicide or something to really hammer home the intolerable intolerance of religious bigotry.
Yes God Yes doesn't have much interest in hard-hitting messages though. It uses the Jesus Boot Camp as a background for a sex comedy, thus playing less like an American Tragedy and more like American Pie. The entire thing is light and hilarious, playfully poking the bear known as God rather than calling it evil. Dyer is incredible. Big win for her here, and I think she deserves at least a Golden Globe nomination.
