A Call to Spy (also known as Liberté: A Call to Spy) is a 2019 American historical drama film written and produced by Sarah Megan Thomas and directed by Lydia Dean Pilcher. The title a stylistic variant to a call to arms, the film is inspired by the true stories of three women who worked as spies in Churchill's Secret Army. It stars Sarah Megan Thomas as Virginia Hall, Radhika Apte as Noor Inayat Khan, and Stana Katic as Vera Atkins.

A Call to Spy had its world premiere on June 21, 2019 at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and will be released in the United States on October 2, 2020, in theaters and on video on demand.

The film was widely well-received during its release, with both its timely themes and the film's strong ensemble performance praised.

Sheila O'Malley of rogerebert.com gave "A Call To Spy" 3.5 out of 4 stars: "An excellent historical drama. I was engrossed for every moment of the film's 123-minute running time." Indiewire called the film "A Sturdy Drama about WWII's overlooked female spies. Sarah Megan Thomas is the standout here, with the multi-hyphenate not only taking on the film's meatiest role as real-life spy figure Virginia Hall, but also writing and producing the feature."

In the pandemic landscape, with theaters in major cities like New York and Los Angeles closed, "A Call To Spy" still added "fuel to the specialty box office."

Post Re: A Call to Spy
Its well acted, made nicely and had great production values but it fails to tell an organic story instead goes on as a story more scripted than directed. The three leads are great in this specially Radhika Apte. There is also lack of tension at some moments but the depiction of these events and the whole back and forth is something that's worth exploring (possibly in a better directed movie).
