Holy fuck this was awful. If Desperados hadn't come out this year this would have definitely been the year's worst. Lame, pedestrian humor and a boring and unfocused storyline that was done so much better in the charming Plus One from last year. D

Yes its not a good movie that fails to justify its existence and falls into the traps of the same movies that it tries to make fun off. I agree that Plus One last year handled this MUCH better. For a romantic "comedy" the movie has no idea how to make a comic scenes and I wholly blame John Whitesell for this. The screenplay is also bad for a romantic holiday movie you get neither the romance, nor holidays and piss poor comedy. The only thing that works here is the chemistry between Roberts and Bracey (Bracey looks very different from his past roles, in a good way).

Emma Roberts isn't the best actress but I've generally enjoyed her maybe thanks to goodwill from "AHS" and "Scream Queens" as well as movies such as Nerve. But this was a waste of everyone's energy and the humor was cringe-inducing.

I was going to watch this for Emma Roberts. I thought it looked cute enough. But now I don't know. Sounds bad.
