A pretty solid follow up to the first film. The first 30 minutes had me worried initially because of how slow it was and the fact that I wasn't all that invested in the story, but once it picks up its pretty much relentless from beginning to end. The director still manages to bring that same frenetic and energetic direction to this film as well which was nice and the make-up/gore effects were also well done, although I definitely noticed more CGI in this one compared to the first which took me out of some scenes, but thankfully it didn't ruin the film for me overall. Chelsea Islan is still in fine form too here as Alfie and I was satisfied with the ending this movie had for her character, but I can't say that I cared all that much for any of the new characters.

Yes this was a solid follow-up even though not everything makes sense here. The horror scenes carry the same creepy feel and practical effects are again used better. Whenever the movie switches to CGI it does falter possibly because of lack of big budget. The story this time feels a lot more forced specially when trying to connect to the first movie, also the very last scene that sets up the sequel could have been better. The new characters were just there to die.
