Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga
Quote: Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is a 2020 American musical comedy film directed by David Dobkin and written by Andrew Steele and Will Ferrell. The film follows Icelandic singers Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdóttir (Ferrell and Rachel McAdams) as they are given the chance to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest. Pierce Brosnan, Dan Stevens, and Demi Lovato also star.
The film was initially scheduled for a May 2020 release to coincide with the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, however the release was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was released on Netflix on June 26, 2020.

This was a blast! Really fun, hilarious and heartfelt. Will Ferrell's best in years, mostly thanks to a completely effortless and charming performance from Rachel McAdams and a high camp turn from Dan Stevens. The songs are also legitimately good and catchy. A great feel-good flick. A-

So glad to hear that. I'm interested for Rachel. Just waiting to watch it because I don't want to watch it alone.

It's really delightful. The scene at the party is a truly joyous movie moment. Hope Rachel gets a Globe nomination.

Pitch Perfect + Blades of Glory but a little bit better than both of them.

Dan Stevens and Rachel McAdams are great in this, but Will Ferrell bogs so much of it down IMO and that is coming from someone who actually likes Ferrell for the most part as an actor. I mean its one of his better films in years yet he is easily the weakest thing about it. Him and McAdams do have pretty good chemistry though, but I think you definitely could have gotten someone better for his role like Radcliffe or even have Stevens play that part. It's even weirder that Pierce Bronson plays his dad and there only like 15 years apart in real life. Still its an entertaining little comedy with plenty of laughs sprinkled throughout.

Fun and feelgood film, though it takes a while to get going for me and the way Ferrell dumbs down his character seems a bit too much, but the rest keeps it afloat actually and there's some fun gags and banter in it. McAdams and Stevens are very good and though it all plays out a bit predictable, the ending is very nice and it's a great final song. All the songs are pleasant actually and I kind of really dig jaja, dingdong lol.

Ferrell brings this down otherwise its a great movie. McAdams is lovely in this, Stevens is equally good. The final sequence is great and there are some great LOL moments. The final competition could have been more exciting.
