 Irresistible (2020)
Quote: Irresistible is a 2020 American political comedy film written and directed by Jon Stewart. It stars Steve Carell, Chris Cooper, Mackenzie Davis, Topher Grace, Natasha Lyonne, and Rose Byrne. The film follows a Democratic strategist who tries to help a local candidate win an election in a small right-wing town.
Initially set for a theatrical release in May 2020, the film was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, and then released on video on demand and limited theaters on June 26, 2020, by Focus Features.

 Re: Irresistible (2020)
Fun satire, Carell and Byrne are both good, it's just a good comedy and Carell is actually great in it, he doesn't play a very likable character, but I loved his oblivious arrogance. It doesn't really hit the political parts out of the park, but I think it found the right balance of having a message and being breezy. Mackenzie Davis and Chris Cooper are standouts too and its a nice and good effort from Jon Stewart in his second film. It's perhaps stronger with certain moments than the overall picture but there are plenty of them and that works for me. Compact, yet great soundtrack too.

I'm pretty much in agreement with stuffp on this one. This is an entertaining political satire with some really solid performances from Carell and Byrne. Mackenzie Davis and Chris Cooper were pretty damn good too and I enjoyed how they incorporated the members of the town into this, because even their scenes were a lot of fun at times. It's not always hilarious or laugh out loud funny, but I did laugh quite a bit and I would definitely like to see John Stewart make more films after this.

 Re: Irresistible (2020)
I didn't like this as much, even though I understand what they were trying to do. Rose Byrne in a small role is really good. The acting from Carell, Cooper and Davis are decent enough but none of these three leads stood out. The multiple endings and the twist before didn't work for me because I was never invested in the lover story. The political satire works at times but its neither laugh out loud funny nor does it serve the ending well.
