 Re: A Perfect World
Firstly surprised to see there was no thread for this yet, there's quite a bit of quality films from the 80's and 90's without threads actually I noticed. Secondly it surely is a very solid film. A quite lengthy crime drama with an effective man and boy bonding story. It fits nicely in both Eastwood's and Costner's careers, Costner proves that he was one of the prime leading men at the time with his characterization here. Eastwood puts in a effort of workmanship both behind and in front of the camera, where Laura Dern and Bradley Whitford have good roles as well. It's not a very flashy film, but it has several good dramatic thuds and the 60's Texas setting is enjoyable. It's at its best when the relationship between Costner and the boy he abducts develops.

 Re: A Perfect World
I love this movie, just going over my top 100 again, it really is a great simple movie with a lot going on. In particular one great scene is the use of a music box at the end of film. A song is played twice almost back to back and the mood of both scenes are so different. I don't think Eastwood has directed a better film, which is a lot to say as he is one of my favorites. I find his gung ho/ impromptu style one of the most consistently effective practices of any modern day director. Great performances throughout. A+

If this never had a thread then KJ deserved to struggle for all those years. I think maybe Eagle deleted threads to save space before or something. It's just crazy that this never had its own thread before 6th April 2019. Anyway, it's a fucking brilliant film, and inside my Top 100.
