 What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? Quote: What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? is a 1962 American psychological thriller film produced and directed by Robert Aldrich, starring Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. The screenplay by Lukas Heller is based on the novel of the same name by Henry Farrell. In 2003, the character of Baby Jane Hudson was ranked #44 on the American Film Institute's list of the 50 Best Villains of American Cinema.
The film was nominated for five Academy Awards, winning one for Best Costume Design, Black and White.

It's good mainly cause Bette Davis and Joan Crawford are both incredible, the latter doesn't get to chew up the screen as much but her non-verbal acting is aces and reveals the layers of her complex character. Both this and Feud could have gone in a more bitchfesty or campy direction, but chose a layered psychological style instead and let its actors carry it. I think a better director could have taken this to another level, but overall a very good thriller
