Re: Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Though, I mean, sound bites are fine and dandy, but the truly unforgivable sin of this movie is how poorly handled Anakin's transition from whiny skeptic of the jedi to child murderer is handled. Him being tricked by Palpatine to join the Dark Side is such a fatal miscalculation, I don't know how anyone overlooks it.

Re: Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
I haven't seen this in awhile, I need to watch the prequels again. Just comparing the first theatrical experiences I'd put Sith above Force. Though in five years I doubt Force will have anything as embarassing as Hayden Christensen. Goodness man. "In my opinion the jedi are evil". What an asshole.

Mace Windu needed to be killed in the climax, I'll explain details later

Re: Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
This movie is not great. It's not bad either. Even the "epic" duel at the end is lacking some heart because all the fucking useless green screen. Ewan though was great during that duel but for a third straight movie he was poorly utilized and sent off on another dumb mission when he should be doing important stuff. The acting of Ian and Ewan and Smits were great. Portman turned into a dumb and useless character and Hayden barely got better from Clones.
It could have been so so good with minor changes here and there but what we were all left with was "best of the prequels" feeling.
C+/B-
The anti cheese edit brings it up to a B/B+ though.

Re: Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Ewan's "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!!" delivery is probably the only piece of legitimately great acting in the PT. It's so good it makes me think I'm too harsh on this film, but 10 minutes later we get the whole she's lost the will to live development and RIP my mind.

Just needed better script and more practical effects. There's a great trilogy lost in here.

I don't think there's anything wrong with lots of CGI. Back when these we're made, it really was groundbreaking. They don't hold up today as well as say, LOTR's effects, but I don't think it should be shot on just because of lots of CGI.

Re: Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
After seeing TFA this might not be great, but I like the last 30 minutes and I would even say the lightsaber battle at the end is definitely more exciting than the one in Awakens. Loved the whole lava/volcano location and how it was used. I also don't mind the opening action sequence, but this movie is still plagued by the same problems as the first two films. Hayden Christensen's crappy acting and the terrible dialogue really way it down. Ewan McGregor is consistently great as young Obi-Wan Kenobi in all three films though.

Hayden is much more wooden than Hamill, but Hamill never had to spit out the dialogue that Hayden did.
And REVENGE OF THE SITH is still really good.

This one is still really good. Palpatine is awesome, though it's very obviously a stunt double doing some of his lightsaber fighting.

Re: Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Really good still, though Anakin's turn is completely sudden and not believable at all. He comes off as a mental retard. Though this movie has my favorite line "So this is how liberty dies? With thunderous applause."

Re: Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Anakin's turn was the major plot point of this movie and it fails to organically make the turn. The interactions between Anakin and Palpatine are great but more of those were needed before the turn. The demise of Jedi was handled very well and the finale delivers (even though Vader learning about killing Padme needed way more than what we get). Ewan McGregor again comes out the best here but I felt Christensen was also better than his previous performances specially in the second half. The politics is also handled very nicely but I felt the story with Yoda was done just to setup the already shown sequels. Overall this is easily the best of the prequels and while I like ROTJ a slightly better this one almost reaches to the quality of original trilogy.
