Doesn't really hold up when you think about it more but it was pleasant enough while I watched it. Animation is gorgeous and its heart is in the right place but the story/script was not very good.

It's okay, but I could not shake off the image of Sheldon, when hearing Jim Parsons.

It's cute, and better than I was expecting. And while it's below most of DreamWorks' more recent efforts, there is still some magic to be found. B-.
And Lorne Balfe's score is really good, which convinced me to check the movie out. It's unfortunate the soundtrack isn't receiving an official release.

 Re: Home (2015)
I'm surprised this could not eek out a Fresh rating on RT like other meh DW movies did, such as Turbo and The Croods, and "funny but lacked heart" Penguins and Peabody and Sherman. Home actually has a really good premise, and likable protagonists, as well as a very good soundtrack. The animation is gorgeous. What keeps the film from being great is it does not take itself seriously enough and frequently feels like it is trying too hard to play to the kiddies. The mixed up language the Boov have got rather old after a while; maybe just Oh should have spoken that way? But a really cute film that is worth a watch.

Lame, generic CG kids flick. The pace is annoying, the animation is ugly, and these Boovs are also annoying. "O" is the most annoying character. Didn't realise it was Rihanna's voice or Steve Martin's, but Jim Parsons is unmistakable. And it had to be Jennifer Lopez playing the Latino, "Mymom".

Yeah it is a snoozer. At least that's what i could tell from the first half of the film.
