 Re: Daddy's Home
Daddy's Home isn't a bad movie, it's really quite heartwarming in it's way. Unfortunately, it's a comedy that wasn't anywhere near funny enough, the script needed a serious going over. Luckily, the two lead actors are so charming that it still provides a passably good time at the movies. *B-*

This was actually okay, I thought it looked terrible but it entertained me. The switches between Nickelodeon movie and crass adult humor are jarring.

Daddy's Home
No idea how this made over $150m. I mean, it's kind of fun, but it's so low-key. Nothing is overly clever or hilarious. Ferrell is great as ever, but Wahlberg seems like he is sleepwalking through it. It's fairly short, too. Did I enjoy it? Well, yes, because it's a light entertainment, easy watch. The basketball scene was laugh out loud funny. And John Cena at the end was fun. Linda Cardellini was a gorgeous MILF, which made for pleasant viewing, but Thomas Haden Church steals the [fairly safe] show.

I thought this was one of the worst movies of last year. I didn't even laugh until the last half hour but it's mostly painfully unfunny.

 Re: Daddy's Home
Other than the one line humor from its premise its a pretty unfunny movie. It neither turns funny nor does it do anything with its characters. There isn't much of Dad vs Step-Dad in the movie that hasn't been done before. The final act is the only mildly funny portion in the entire movie.
Ferrell is great and Wahlberg is fine.
