For me this is an absolute classic. Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren are so good in their roles; Van Damme is the kind, able, defensive soldier and Dolph is the crazy, gung-ho killer. The story is nice and the action is pretty spectacular. Rolan Emmerich's best movie. None of the Universal Soldier movies have been able to match the first.

Re: Universal Soldier I am not a big fan of Dolph Lundgren but this movie makes great use of his skills. Van Damme is also great in the movie. It is a great movie building up the rivalry and providing good action but I am still disappointed in the action scenes overall here, they have a B-movie feel to it (not sure if this was meant to be like that).
