Re: Zootopia
Not sure what the argument is?
How it reads: I don't get why people think The Lion King is awesome. I mean of course it's awesome but people make it out to be one of Disney's best, which it is, but that's beside the point. The only reason people like it is due to nostalgia because they were old enough to remember it when it came out 20 years ago, someone's age at the time something happened being totally within their control of course, unlike me who wasn't born then but still love it all the same because it is pretty awesome, but why do people keep saying it's so good?

I just think it isn't untouchable like most do. Likely in 10 years, today's kids will view Frozen in the same light.

*** (B) Let me guess. Not nearly as good as The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast? Not even in the same league.

Re: Zootopia
I think its impossible to say whether Zootopia is better than Disney's standard bearer just a week after it comes ou. I will say that nothing is Zootopia is as lame as "I just can't wait to be King".

Re: Zootopia
Oh it's definitely close to lame. Buttt 1) Shakira is a much better singer than the kid who voiced Simba and 2) It isn't used in the same way.

Re: Zootopia
If any song is lame in the Lion King, it's Hakuna Matata. None of the songs come close to the brilliance of Circle of Life, nor does the rest of the movie, to be honest. The opening is so by far the best part of the movie, the rest almost feels like a different movie.

I wonder if there is a thread out there that might allow us talk about that movie

Re: Zootopia
Eh, when we have a GOAT movie like Zootopia, I think it's fair to talk about its place in history. And Lion King is its rival in that regard.

Nah cause today's kids will be nostalgic then. And they'll be debating Zootopia vs Frozen as Disney's best film.

I'd agree with you if today's kids weren't still being shown The Lion King. They are.
