Only way to make this better would have been songs.

I watched it and Civil War in back to back days and still can't decide. They're both perfect .

If enough people watched it, Kubo seems to have more support for the WOKJ animated award.

Hey you may disagree, but can you think of a way they could have appealed to Me anymore? I sure can't.

And zwacks I'd say Kubo has a better shot at the oscar than the Eagle.

Hey you may disagree

They're both fine films (Zootopia more so). But perfect? Come on.

There's no such thing as a perfect film because everyone has different opinions.

Regardless, Zootopia and Civil War are not even close to being perfect or whatever adjective you'd prefer.

Well obviously nothing. Even Two Towers has too many Liv Tyler scenes.

Zootopia has gorgeous visuals, a fun soundtrack, lead characters that I adore, a Tina Fey esque sense of humor and an important social message to top it off. Yeah "be yourself" is the theme of every modern Disney, but they rarely discuss how to feel about other people being theirselves.

If Zootopia was a $5m production with a gay black dude, I wouldn't be the only one calling it perfect. Just saying.

And yes, for you algren, who likes his movies to feel very "mature", it wouldn't be perfect. And for zwacks it needs more song and dance. But for me it couldn't better and thus it earns an A+.

2015 A+- None
2014- The Raid 2, Guardians, John Wick
2013- None
2012- Avengers, Django
2011- Drive
2010- Scott Pilgrim, Inception, How To Train Your Dragon

For reference.

The only non musical Disney film I feel is deserving of A+ is Emperor's New Groove. But Zootopia is very good and it's still my favorite film I've seen so far this year. It's just hard for me to separate Disney from their musical films and when one of their films doesn't have songs, it's disappointing.

2015 A+ Inside Out
2014 Into the Woods, The Lego Movie
2013 The Hunger Games Catching Fire, Frozen
2012 None
2011 Harry Potter 8
2010 Harry Potter 7, Tangled, Toy Story 3

In my top three favourite films this year is The Angry Birds Movie.

This is so good. Disney should 100% make a sequel where Judy and Nick start dating and he has to meet the parents. But seriously, easily one of Disney’s best scripts, especially with no songs. The allegory is a bit confusing, it deals with overt prejudice rather than subconscious bias, which is the main form of racism at large today. But it’s thrilling, hilarious, and the characters are great.

This movie gets better with each viewing. The story and its flow never feels generic as you are invested in these characters and there are so many pop-culture references added here without them being in your face. The sloth scenes to this day are just LOL.
