In particular, the final embrace between Deadpool and lover. Just fit to a tee superhero relationships. All about the male, the female is there to act as something pretty to look at and suck cock nicely. All the previous characterization out the window. Couldn't tell her apart from Natalie Portman in Thor or whoever Captain America's love interests are or Paltrow, Holmes, etc etc etc. Right, I forgot the scene in Thor, where Jane Foster fucked Thor in the ass with a strap-on.

I guess I'm also the only one besides BK that didn't really like the movie. The movie tries too hard to make the humor all self-contained and poking fun of itself. It reminds me of Family Guy and Jay and Silent Bob. It really isn't my taste

I liked it, though maybe a bit too precocious and twee. It really wants you the audience to like it, which comes across as needy at times.

Saw it again. The parts that work are very rewatchable, found myself enjoying it more. Some parts in the middle drag though.

Re: Deadpool
I'm actually genuinely suspicious that BK saw an edited version of Deadpool, because not being able to differentiate Morena Baccarin from Natalie Portman's Thor role is pretty insane.

Re: Deadpool
Not perfect. It drags during the middle and about 1/3rd of the jokes don't hot. The jokes that do are very funny though. The three big action scenes are well done. My favorite was the fight in the burning building. And the movie has a shocking amount of heart that its almost frustrating at times. Of course she's still gonna love you, Deadpool!! You're being foolish by staying away!
It reminded me of Ant-Man more than any other Marvel movie.

So I guess it's been confirmed that it was indeed a helicarrier or at least a "don't sue us" version of the helicarrier. http://io9.gizmodo.com/heres-concept-ar ... 1759768528

Deadpool
Highly entertaining, creative action-comedy. The wisecracks come thick and fast, the sequences choreographed and filmed to precision, and self-referential humour that pushes Deadpool into a comic-book film league of its own. The film is just a blast; a feature-length fun-ride of gratuitous violence, F-bombs, and sexual humour/nudity. What's not to like? And Ryan Reynolds is superbly cast, really making use of his comic strengths. Deadpool is a breath of fresh air amidst a stale battle between the generic, tedium of MCU and the doom and gloom of DC. Even the opening credits embody Deadpool's brand of naughty humour (and the closing credits even moreso!), which I'd rather watch a million times over than re-watch, say, Thor or Avengers ever again. Bring on Deadpool 2!

I think we are to assume that she died under the collapse of the ship. But as we never see it, they will bring her back. Good character. Boobs.

Maximum effort! Hilarious at times. Really good at times. Not too many lulls. Though the Marvel curse of a weak ass villain strikes again. I mean, at least this one had the excuse of not having to fight a legit superhero, so he could afford to not be a legit villain.
I'd say the zamboni and tiny hand parts were my favorite.

Magnus wrote: its more amusing than funny. The action is pretty cool and genuinely better than most big-budget comic-book films. Reynolds gives it his all and it shows. The romance angle actually works pretty well and much better than most comic-book films.
But the main issue imo is that it still feels so generic even if its supposed to be this "anti-superhero" film. And the film drags a lot.
It's a bit of a letdown though. Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy are funnier superhero films imo and this should have been. I completely agree with this.

School of Movies podcast threw out the idea of John Cena as Cable. Who could be better than that? All the other top choices are already linked to other franchises at the moment. And I'd say he's earned it with Trainwreck and Sisters.

Re: Deadpool
This was fun to watch. A breath of fresh air for the superhero genre. Its funny, has great action scenes and also has heart. Great combo. Its by no means perfect but for the time and moment it deserves all its success.

Re: Deadpool
Deadpool was pretty amusing, though there's not much too it. Several bits made me smile. The swearing was pure teenager stuff, which seemed odd coming out of the mouth of a 39 year old.The fighting was the same old, same old, zzzzz. Not up to the Ant Man standard, but still better than the average superhero movie. *C+*
