 Re: The Call (2020)
This was really well made in a lot of aspects, but overall I didn't care for it much, especially after seeing something like His House which handles psychological horror way more effectively IMO. I didn't really care for any of the characters in this which made it super hard to get invested in the story and the only ones that I did find interesting were Tobin Bell and Lin Shaye who were heavily underutilized. They should have definitely been the leads of this movie, but nope we get stuck with a group of unlikable teenagers for the most part.
To be fair though the acting isn't bad at all and this is easily the best performance I have seen out of Chester Rushing who has never impressed me before in his past films, but I didn't feel like there was much development with his character either. The scares were pretty weak too even if I thought the practical makeup effects looked really good in certain scenes.

 Re: The Call (2020)
Saw this in a theater a few weekends ago. Thought it was decent. Wanted all of the characters to die except for Chester Rushing's. I didn't care enough about his fate to be upset if he didn't make it, but I liked him enough.
An alright waste of time. Was just nice seeing a new horror flick in theaters during Halloween time.

 Re: The Call (2020)
I didn't enjoy this enough specially with Lin Shaye's involvement. The scares are not good enough and the whole concept was comical for me. Also the movie didn't make me care for any of the characters including Lin Shaye/Tobin Bell's characters which is what brought this down even further. Both Lin Shaye and Tobin Bell bring much needed gravity to their thinly written characters. Chester Rushing was easily the best of the young actors but without character development its hard to root for any of their fates.
