 Re: Coherence
Coherence is a one-location type movie, and I've had great experiences with those mostly. Coherence is no difference, the camerawork is very intrusive, the characters feel very real, and the story development is very interesting. I only knew Maury Sterling in this cast, and the rest I made have only seen once in a movie but didn't recognize. It's really well cast though, every has their own bit, and it feels real and true.
The movie is a sci-fi in the end, and the concept of the plot is not totally new, but it still feels fresh, because everything is just very well executed. Up until an hour, i'm totally soaked in and basically feel actually present of their dining room. It's great when a movie can achieve that, and Coherence most definitely does. From the start of the 3rd act, when more suspense is trying to be built in, and things are being explained it takes the edge of a bit. It becomes more unreal at this point, but still feels like a genuine. I would have preferred if the ending was told a bit more subtle though (in an Inception kind of way), but for the film it was, it was overall really well done.
It's a mixture between The Man from Earth and Triangle, both films I'm also very fond of. Oh, and Baldoni is hot.
