Leto shows of the great actor he is in one of his earliest roles, about the hero-runner Prefontaine. There's good performances all around, and the biography telling story about Pre is interesting and compelling. I also enjoyed how Nike and Prefontaine were involved with each other in essentially making each other better in what they do. I prefer this Prefontaine movie with Leto over the one that Crudup made, even though the latter seems better received by others.

The sport scenes are really well done and exciting, and the drama surrounding it holds it all together fluently.
