Penguins of Madagascar
Penguins of MadagascarQuote: Penguins of Madagascar is an American 3D computer-animated action comedy film, produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is a spin-off of the Madagascar film series, and takes place right after the events of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, following the penguins Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private in their own spy thriller. Apart from the main characters, it is unrelated to The Penguins of Madagascar (which is set in its own continuity).
The film is directed by Simon J. Smith and Eric Darnell, and written by Michael Colton and John Aboud. It stars the voices of Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, Conrad Vernon, Christopher Knights, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Malkovich, and Ken Jeong. The film is scheduled to be released on November 26, 2014.

Re: Penguins of Madagascar
This was cute and colorful, but it felt small in scope despite being about globetrotting penguins. It felt like an extended episode of the TV show, albeit with better animation and voice acting. Certainly the best animated movie to star penguins, but not by much. Very surprised this bombed when piece of shit Happy Feet adjusts to 250 fucking million dollars.

Re: Penguins of Madagascar
This is actually fun to watch with kids. Its slight and juvenile but is funny in parts and overall quite enjoyable.

Re: Penguins of Madagascar
I noticed a couple of sly little play on celebrity names while my kids were watching this. Drew Barrymore and Hugh Jackman to be exact. So looked it up on IMDB:
Dave's direct orders to his octopus cronies incorporate a celebrity's name, e.g. "Drew! Barry! More power!"; "Nicolas, cage them!"; "Charlize, they're on the ray!"; "Hugh, Jack, man the battle stations."; "Halle, bury them."; "Kevin, bake on; we're still gonna need that victory cake."; "Robin, write this down."; "Helen, hunt them down!"; "William, hurt them." ; "Elijah, would you please take them away?". The relevant celebrities are Drew Barrymore, Nicolas Cage, Charlize Theron, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Kevin Bacon, Robin Wright, Helen Hunt, William Hurt and Elijah Wood.
