Re: Den of Thieves 2: Pantera
Takes too long to setup and there are indeed 3 maybe 4 (i really cannot call it a twist but more of "possibilities") endings which took me out of the movie. The score is good at places but overall very disappointing, plus there's no gun action this time and the one car chase has bullets sounding like firecrackers.

Re: Den of Thieves 2: Pantera
It's quite a different film than the first one, from the setting, to the cast, to the story and it's not really a bad thing. It makes it feel fresh in that way and I could see another sequel coming after this too. Essentially this film takes just two of the main characters from the first film and puts them in a where are they now/ what are they doing now situation. I like the move the Europe and the Diamond Bank in Nice as the object of the new heist. The sequel is less about action and grittiness like the first film and instead it's more about the planning and execution of the heist. Though this misses the Merrimen character and is just not a great as the first film which is pretty much a modern classic for me, I like the beats this follows about as much regardless. There's some cool car action and moments of levity with Butler acclimatising to France and Gudegast again manages to deliver a well paced and slick style that make this easy to enjoy and digest.
