Re: Big Hero 6
I find it difficult to rank the new Disney films. I believe they're all great, but they're also missing that spark that made past Disney animated films something magical. In fact, I think this is true for nearly all of their CG movies (Pixar included).
For me, there's some disconnect (or barrier) occurring between today's modern animators and their work that continues to make its presence known on-screen.
That said, animation and animated films are greater as a whole.
Big Hero 6 > Frozen > Tangled > Wreck-It Ralph... I think (all B+/A-).

Re: Big Hero 6
All that is missing is time. Time to build the nostalgia. I think that's all it is. Give it 20 or 30 years and you will feel that these "new" movies are also magical. It might also be to do with supply. We're oversupplied now, which psychologically makes us feel the products are of less value. I think the quality of today's animated films is a thousand times better than older Disney movies.

Re: Big Hero 6
I really connected more with Wreck-It-Ralph than with Big Hero 6. For me, WIR is definitely the better movie. That said, I really enjoyed Big Hero 6 and would prefer a sequel to it than to Wreck-It-Ralph.

Re: Big Hero 6
Still a generic film.
Lazy hashed out predictable storytelling.
Doesn't deserve any awards.
As bad as Home on the Range with its forced emotion.

Re: Big Hero 6
This is easily the weakest animated film Disney has released since the 2010 resurgence. Baymax is a great character, animation is great and cool flight sequences, but beyond that there's not much it offers.

Re: Big Hero 6
This one has really grown on me. It's becoming more and more one of my animated favorites.

Re: Big Hero 6
My opinion of this has cooled off. The action and animation are great, and it’s never boring, but it relies way too much on cliche without adding much to the formula. Baymax is still really funny though. Definitely enjoyable, but not ground breaking in any way.

Re: Big Hero 6
Baymax still delivers as promised but there are too many cliched moments and the second half happens way too fast without the teamwork getting any time to come together or get a payoff. Its fun and great while it lasts but the first half is way too strong from the second half. The animation and visuals are great but music is like white noise during action scenes, I didn't even feel something missing in the flight scenes with Baymax, the quieter moments in the first half deliver a better subtle music.
