Well, she can disguise herself as different people. When someone has that ability, what job do you think most suits their skill?
...probably burglary, wouldn't you say?
Personally, I don't think it's weak movie-making.

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past
I guess that's right. And maybe it isn't.
It's that movie are 10 years apart, that I think it isn't a very big deal, but it just seems quite easy, lacking of originality for me to use the same scene so blatantly. I would have felt better if DOFP didn't use this same scene, even it does work for both movies anyway. But X2 did it a little better, when Mystique transformed in the Spanish cleaner afterwords, to offer some not forced comic relief.

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past
This movie was really great. I didn't love it as much the second time, but it certainly had the best plot and characters of any 2014 superhero movie. This X-Men movie is a real step above the MCU.

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past
I enjoyed this a lot more the second viewing. The future X-Men are still mostly wasted, but it doesn't matter, since the past storyline is so much fun and full of heart.

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past
Haven't watched this since it came out and was curious to see how it would hold up. It does go down a bit better in a full second viewing, but I just can't help being underwhelmed by it still. This had the potential to be so EPIC and while all the ingredients are there the execution isn't very satisfying IMO. I complained about this before, but more future scenes would have been much appreciated, although I did watch the version with the tacked on Rogue scene which did nothing for me anyways. The truth is the old cast didn't have much to do except stand around and occasionally fight the Sentinels which looks cool, especially when the X-Force was involved, but I wanted more of it. As for all the past stuff I'll admit having Logan in a bigger role this time does help immensely because he has some great back and forth with Xavier, Magneto and Hank. Also, this seems to be Jackman at his best since X2. That combined with the stellar SFX easily puts it above First Class which hasn't held up so well, but I enjoyed the Professor X/Magneto dynamic way more in that movie. Peter Dinklage is wasted as the villain and Lawrence is a boring Mystique, but that Quicksilver sequence is still pretty dope and probably the only real memorable thing about this movie.

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past
The new trilogy has lame villains. Sebastian Shaw, Trask, Apocalypse are all pretty lame.
The original trilogy of course has McKellen's brilliant Magneto as the main villain, but I also loved Bryan Cox as Stryker in the second.

Sebastian Shaw was a great villain.

Just watched the Rogue Cut for the first time. Not totally necessary but I liked the added scenes.

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past
Imagine if they had DOFP2 open in a few weeks. This could have easily been 2 films where the cliffhanger is where Logan travels back. It's a shame we will never get a real future XMen storyline with all the great actors. I want nothing but more of this film. I saw the rogue cut too. I think it worked even better, outside of beast getting busy.

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past
This is the best X-Men movie for me even though you need to see the previous movies to get what's going on. The concept, execution, action all are great here.
