My least favourite of the Indy flicks. It's not without it's good moments (I still occasionally yell "Aligshandretta! Of Course!" while doing a little jig to express Eureka moments), but on the whole, a missed opportunity that's unfortunately, more often than not, just a little bit dull.

Sparsity of good set-pieces aside (Lucas and Spielberg apparently blew their load on Temple of Doom), it's also just a carbon copy of Raiders plot-wise, only with more comedy and slapstick that are more detrimental than beneficial. Case in point: Connery and Ford have good chemistry together as father and son, but I would've rather seen them showcase it in a different film. One where every one of Connery's jabs and one-liners towards Ford didn't completely emasculate and demystify one of my all-time-favourite characters.

B+

My least favorite of the OT...

The quality kept declining throughout the trilogy... hopefully they buck the trend.

I liked it quite a bit, though it's not as great as Raiders. It gets the series back on the "fun" track after the darker turn in Temple of Doom, and it does so effectively. The opening sequence with River Phoenix as a younger Indy is a lot of fun, and it pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the movie. Harrison Ford and Sean Connery are a lot of fun to watch as Indy and Henry, Sr. It's not the best or most wildly entertaining entry of the franchise, but it's a very solid adventure flick.

Grade: B+

There are few films that you can sit back and be blown away by just solid entertainment. Pirates did it and so does Indy, and this is one of those films where you may ignore the cheesy moments, the rather simple plotline, and the occational bad acting (the Austrian girl ehem) because the awesome takes over in an engaging action story that never gets old.

A+

Definitely the weakest of the original trilogy for me. It lacks the genuine adventure of the first, and the campy brilliance of the second. And the European backdrop (aka no racist Orientalism) doesn't really work for an Indy film for me at least. It's still pretty good, but definitely not my favorite.
I do like the opening sequence with Little Indy, though.

I don't like this one as much as Raiders, mainly because the tank fight sequence bores me to tears. The beginning and the end of the movie are fantastic. The blimp scene or is it a zeppelin is absolutely f****** hilarious. No ticket! Far superior to Temple of Doom, though the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has risen towards it in my book. That one is worth revisiting even if you hated it the first time.

A+

You give something an A+ that has a segment that bores you to tears? GTFO.

He also hated a lot of DOFP, yet it's on his top 100 films

Nothing he ever posts makes sense. Come on now. He lost me a year ago at theaters won't exist in 19 years now.

Those may have been extreme word s. I can forgive a few flaws in the movie.

I don't remember hating any parts of Days of Future past.

Watched this for the first time, since I was probably 12. Nearly Perfect Film. Sean Connery is aces. Harrison Ford is at the top of his game. Spielberg at his best. Great action. Great story. Great score. Good supporting cast. But

After rewatching the whole series, this has become my new favorite. Still love Raiders and think it is a near perfect film, but this one has more in the way of character arcs and growth.

Last Crusade - 10/10
Raiders - 10
Temple - 8 - this one dropped from a 9. Willie is so annoying.
Skull - 5.5 - I liked this alot when I first saw it but it doesn't hold up at all. The sequences in the last 40 minutes are still kind of exiciting but the first half is brutally boring.

Yeah, this has always been my favourite. Connery and Ford are excellent together and the whole Nazi villainry makes it feel like the quintessential Indy movie.

I like all 4 a lot. This actually might be my least favorite, just because I think it gets slow between the scene on the zeppelin until we reach the scene in the grail chamber
