Re: Neighbors (2014)
I'm in the minority on this one.
This was flat out HILARIOUS. One of the funniest comedies I've seen since Hangover 1. Every joke hit. And it was very well acted for what it was. The milking scene was /dead.
Oh, and Mr. Efron... Knock it off, man. Making us all look bad with your *drool*

Re: Neighbors (2014)
Funniest part of the movie was them doing batman voices. The rest of the movie was okay

Seriously? To be fair, only one person here has said they flat out disliked it. The consensus seems to be "solid" for the most part. I'd place it a notch above solid with a B+ grade. Very funny movie; not necessarily a classic, but consistently hilarious.

Re: Neighbors (2014)
To be honest their are much better R-rated comedies out there. Movies like 21 Jump Street, The Heat, and even This Is The End are all vastly superior IMO.
The movie has some really funny moments, but they are too far in between. Also, I understand Zac Efron has a healthy female following, but the fact that you see more of him shirtless than any of the hot chicks in this movie just seems wrong for some reason.
Not that it would have made the movie a whole lot better, but for this kind of comedy it would have really worked.

Re: Neighbors (2014)
I laughed more during This Is the End, but I do respect the way this film is assembled and its ability to convey its story and themes amidst the comic set pieces. It is a more coherent piece than many Rogen/Apatow-era comedies.

THIS IS THE END has nine minutes of people riffing interminably for every decent joke.

Like TED, its funny not hilarious. The batman voices thing was hilarious and a testiment to the icon status of the tdk trilogy.

There was a funnier moment literally 30 seconds after the Batman stuff.

Re: Neighbors (2014)
This was excellent. Neighbors is very funny, has great cinematography during the party scenes, the always amazing Rose Byrne funnier than ever and has Jarrod Carmichael licking himself like a cat. What I enjoyed more than anything was the heart that went into the fratbro part of the storyline. No matter how awful they were it was impossible to truly root against Efron. It would have been so easy to make them all unlikeable dicks.

I got a kick out of Rose Byrne not realizing a Dean is the head of a school. "What kind of woman is named Dean?"

Funny, but not as funny as it could've been.

Re: Neighbors (2014)
Entertaining and funny, best comedy movie since 'We are the Millers', though I found the last 5 minutes very disappointing.

Bad Neighbours
Well, count me surprised. I thought this would be hilarious. It wasn't. Like, not even in the slightest. I laughed once. I can even remember exactly which part I laughed at because I was stunned how only one laugh came from watching this film which should have had me splitting at the sides. It's not terribly stretching of a premise, but it's a good one that I imagined would spark many types of situational comedy, but the film just fell flat. That one laugh came when they were handing out flyers and the guy that eventually breaks his leg from jumping off the balcony gives flyers to a couple of prostitutes, and as he gives one to the second pro he says "you too dead wood", which just caught me at the right time and looking at this whore's ugly miserable face, so it was pretty funny. Rogen and Byrne are incredibly unfunny as they try ever-so hard to be funny. Efron is surprisingly good and portrays the dumb partyer pretty well, and Dave Franco is ok too. Mintz-Plasse is pretty much wasted. The film has really bad editing. Next to it not being funny, that would be my main problem with it.
The stuff that I thought would have been good was all shown in the trailers (which were overplayed prior to its release). The airbag in the chair and the De Niro party and his one liners...it wasn't funny at all. It was just rather lame. Especially the De Niro schtick. It was rushed and not much thought went into it. The Angriest Man in Brooklyn was a better comedy than this.

Re: Neighbors (2014)
Surprised me a bit in just how much I laughed. Everyone has a blast and Rose Byrne remains very attractive. Could have used more Hannibal Buress though.
