Just think - - Earth really could have been restored to a garden of eden if Japheth really had been the last man as planned. I enjoyed pontificating on that idea.... Was the Creator's intent really to wipe out humanity forever? Looking around today, we're back to where we were when the Creator sent the flood. Did Noah's family fuck it up? (I don't actually believe this stuff in a literal way. But I like the idea of humanity fucking up on Earth and being wiped out). Love ends up being the savior of humanity... but at what cost to Creation.... Overall I really liked this, it was.... weird..... but kind of amazing. I really enjoyed the feeling of "early Earth," and the little touches like being able to see stars during the daytime; the snake skin and its special knowledge. The music was perfect, acting was very good, CGI was pretty bad, some slight problems with story flow and character development bring this down from a straight A. Really glad Aronofsky took on this project, it's definitely his vision (though hopefully he'll go back to something original for his next film). Noah's telling of Creation is the best scene I've seen in awhile. Glorious. A-

Re: Noah
I think this would rank near the bottom of Aoronofosokoy's resume for me, but that's not a bad thing. I've loved everything he's done (to varying degrees). I'd put this on the same level as The Wrestler.

Re: Noah
It felt kinda rushed in the first half and totally lost it in the second half when Noah turns all psycho. What a fanatic. Those stone giants sucked too.

Re: Noah
Saw it again. Still an awesome movie. The music plays a big role.
Noah's speech when we hear all those people outside the ark is particularly awesome.
Best movie of the year so far and the best Bible movie I've ever seen.

I won't argue with you about it being the best movie of the year, because I could totally understand that opinion. But have you not seen the great Bible movies of the past yet, or do you really consider Noah better than Ben Hur or Ten Commandments? If not, you gotta see 'em - - STAT!!!

The Ten Commandements, perhaps, Ben-Hur, no.

Re: Noah
A rather underrated Biblical epic, in my opinion, is the 1961 film Barabbas with Anthony Quinn.

Re: Noah
It's alright as a decently put together epic. Aronofsky has some beautiful shots on display throughout the whole film but the experience isn't very memorable.
