Well it's likely that the main reason she annoyed me was because there is a lot of buzz around her.

Post Re: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Like most have already said it's a step up from the first, but honestly I still don't get the craze over this franchise. The characters are well acted for the most part, but they hardly have anything resembling a personality.

Atleast they tried to get that right here since it's an overall much better cast then the last movie. I thought those kids from the first movie were horrible with the exception of Rue and it's nice to see solid veteran and young actors get respectable roles. Jena Malone and the dude who played Fennick were surprisingly good.

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson step their game up too, but I really don't give a shit about this three-way love triangle between them and Liam Hemsworth's character. It bores me to tears even though it's not a major part of the story, but none of them seem to have that much chemistry in the first place so why even bother ? I guess there is a reason this kind of stuff appeals mostly to young women, but it's so damn corny and forced that to me if feels completely unessccessary and it slows down the movie more rather than anything.

As for the action/special effects there isn't much to say except it looked like they actually budget this time. I liked the sequence with those killer monkey's and the poison gas, and the scene towards the end where she shoots the arrow into the lighting and breaks through the dome was pretty damn cool visually, but that's about it.

Nice film, I really liked it, Lawrence is a godess, her acting is over the top

Not denying that there is some level of stupidity and idiocy, but still this film rocks, it actually filled my expectations.
The end left me wanting for more.

God damn do I hate the names. Whenever I hear:
Katniss/Katnip
Peeta
Gale
Haymitch
Primrose

I feel like reaching for my Colt M1911. Mostly I hate Peeta. What Katnip sees in Gale and Peeta, I have no clue. I loathe Twilight but find more meaning in the Edward/Jacob/Bella love triangle than I do in the Gale/Peeta bullshit.

I think it's mostly some fans and the media searching for that love triangle. It takes a clear backseat in the books, and it's doing the same in the films so far. Don't think much on this aspect of the films. And it's definitely a positive that Lawrence has little to no chemistry with either of them.

Your post is very negative, then I see a "B". Just made me chuckle.

The inevitable 'changing of the grade' screening?

I've read this article on Buzzfeed: http://www.buzzfeed.com/adambvary/hunge ... y-problems and it seems that Mockingjay (as a book at least) sucks from what I can tell. (Warning! Spoilers for Mockingbird obviously.) What do those who read the book say?

I actually hated the second book and thought Mockinjay was the best of the bunch. Lots of stuff happens and it's pretty dark at times. Collins is a terrible writer, though. The movies are MUCH better in this case.

Everything they mention are problems I had with the third book as well, though not so much 3 and 4. #7's big part in making 4 happen, and #3 (and both #4 and #7)l resulting in #9, I didn't like so much. #1 and #6 are by far the worst, though, especially since #6 just makes #5 (and also, pretty much half the book) pretty damn pointless. #2 also sucks, because they're awesome when they do show up, but don't get nearly enough face time and are both removed from the main plot through different means.

Really not a big fan of the third book, and I would not be surprised if there's a sharp decline in attendance for these films, especially the last instalment. At least Mockingjay part 1 will definitely have the goodwill from the first two films to boost its numbers, even if it does end up sucking.

I'm not saying the book can't be turned into a good film (or even two), just that it really feels like it pisses all over what's come before in a way that would require some stellar filmmaking to make it work. I'm not advocating for any of these suggested changes, but it's just... the book is an incredible downer, and it's hard to see it work as something people would enjoy seeing in the theatre.

Mockingjay is my favorite

But the first half being its own movie is a tough fit. It's if an entire movie was Catching Fire before the Hunger Games

The Games themselves have always been my least favorite part, which probably explains why MOCKINGJAY is my favorite.

RANT ABOUT MOKCINGJAY (Obviously spoilers)

I don't need 100 minutes of Katniss whining then going on a stupid mission and get shot cuz of her own stupidity and ending the movie wth that certain scene with Katniss and Petaa (no way they end the movie otherwise. JUST NO WAY.

I was fine with one movie, but two movies off that book? lol plz.

I hope they left the second half of Mockingjay on the second part. (which is well... The Hunger Games: Capitol Edition)

I like Mockingjay best of the three. It is when the series becomes really dark and really daring. But making two films out of it is completely ridiculous.

Why? The ending is the best part of the whole series.

I think Mau might mean
Spoiler: show
Katniss and Peeta getting together and having a family
, which is not the best part in the whole series by the widest possible margin, unless perhaps if you're a 14 year old girl.
