A real charmer. Lake Bell is incredibly likable and funny here, and the script she's written is very strong. The movie makes a lot of interesting points about the film industry in general and manages to make a point about women's rights without ever seeming too cloying. There are quite a few hilarious moments and the ending ensures you'll walk out of the theater with a smile on your face. There are also more than a few fun celebrity cameos I won't spoil, the best being a certain A-list actress who shows up as the star of a Hunger Games knockoff franchise. A-

I think the screenplay is the story of the movie. I expected something as goofy and irreverent as Children's Hospital (a show Bell and half the cast of this movie star in) but she crafts characters and relationships that feel organic and has something to say about the nature of the industry shifting towards more equal opportunities for women. It's consistently funny too, which is always a plus.

I saw this a couple weeks ago. It's a light film but very enjoyable and funny.

A little too short but still cute and really enjoyable. Lake Bell was great.

I thought this was pretty much perfect..... "light" yes, but that's what it was aiming for. Loved everything about it: the premise, the script, the actors, the humor..... Consistently laugh-my-ass-off funny. An unexpected gem.
