 The Iceman The Iceman Quote: The Iceman is a drama thriller film based on the life of notorious Mafia hitman Richard Kuklinski. It was released in 2012 at the Venice Film Festival and stars Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, Chris Evans and Ray Liotta. The Iceman premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. It also screened at the Telluride Film Festival in 2012. The Iceman had a limited release in cinemas in the United States on May 3, 2013. It expanded into more cinemas in the USA on May 17th.

Re: The Iceman I did. It is solid; a fairly routine true-crime drama with limited stylistic ambition, but definitely engaging and buoyed by the cast. Michael Shannon delivers a great performance; playing a tightly wound psycho is well within his comfort zone, but he is still always very fascinating and very menacing. His scene with James Franco (in a cameo as one of Kuklinski's many, many victims) stands out in particular. Chris Evans is also in fine form. He plays a more colorful psycho, which is outside his comfort zone, proving he can extend beyond studly superhero roles.
