Re: Much Ado About Nothing (2013)
A very entertaining film: playful, romantic, sexy, and smart. It is a light and warm film adapted from a light and warm play, built upon the energy generated by the cast's interaction and their conversational, at times rapid, always welcoming delivery of the poetic dialogue. Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof shine in particular as the central lovers, Beatrice and Benedick, whose transition from acid-tongued feuding to intense courtship is the blueprint for several of literature and film's most iconic love stories, including Pride & Prejudice. My only complaint: to my eyes, the B&W cinematography is a tad inconsistent. Certain scenes are atmospheric and beautiful (the outdoor "funeral" of Hero, for instance), but others resemble a home movie shot on a high-end digital camera and then desaturated.

I saw this! Must have forgotten to post here.
Anyways, the movie is nothing great, but it's light and fairly fun, and all the performances are solid-to-great. Especially enjoyed the lovely Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof. It's worth checking out. B

Not a Shakespeare fan but I liked this. It's a little hard to get into but once you give in it's pretty enjoyable.

Basically the entire cast is made up of Joss Whedon alums from various projects he's done.

I've only seen a trailer of this so far and it looked like a VHS recording of a cheap German TV soap opera with the Windows Movie Maker black and white filter applied to it. Is that still true for the movie?
