Dirty Harry
Dirty HarryQuote: Dirty Harry is a 1971 American crime thriller produced and directed by Don Siegel, the first in the Dirty Harry film series. Clint Eastwood plays the title role, in his first outing as San Francisco Police Department Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan.
Dirty Harry was a critical and commercial success and set the style for a whole genre of police films. The film was followed by four sequels: Magnum Force in 1973, The Enforcer in 1976, Sudden Impact in 1983 (directed by Eastwood himself), and The Dead Pool in 1988.
In 2012, the film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant."

Re: Dirty Harry
A great crime film that still holds up to today. Have only seen one other Dirty Harry film besides this one.

Re: Dirty Harry
It's hard to believe these movies have never been reviewed on here.
Dirty Harry is just one of the coolest characters ever on screen. A modernized Man with No name, Eastwood in 1971 became the superstar he has remained since. This film and High Plains Drifter are his two best characters of all time, and he just owns in his debut outing. The use of the Zodiac Killer as the premise for this film is still inventive, shocking and entertaining even today. The guy that played Scorpio was really a sicko, and it's no surprised he was typecast the rest of his life. Add to that probably the top five most awesome/quotable scenes of all time "Do you feel lucky Punk?" and a great score, Dirty Harry is one of my favorite films. I think this franchise sometimes gets overlooked, but it's like the Rocky franchise by taking strictly formulaic stories, and changing them enough they were always engaging, sometimes controversial (Inspiring several real life killing sprees throughout the series) and sometimes just well crafted films.
A+
