 The Ladykillers (1955)
The Ladykillers Quote: The Ladykillers is a 1955 British black comedy film made by Ealing Studios. Directed by Alexander Mackendrick, it stars Alec Guinness, Cecil Parker, Herbert Lom, Peter Sellers, Danny Green, Jack Warner and Katie Johnson.
American William Rose wrote the screenplay, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Writing Original Screenplay and won the BAFTA Award for Best British Screenplay. He claimed to have dreamt the entire film and merely had to remember the details when he awoke.

The Ladykillers
This is a lovely film, and still holds up today. I watch it whenever it's on, I just love it. Alec Guinness is the evil and seedy crime boss of sorts, but still a coward, and Herbert Lom is the cool, calm and manly criminal, but still a coward at heart, they're all wimps really...because none of them have the balls to kill a little old lady. And the deception that lasts a long time is just hilarious and strangely suspenseful. Peter Sellers makes a nice appearance, which surprisingly was good as he's usually not so.

Yes, very good fun. A great double feature with The Lavender Hill Mob.

I've always meant to watch The Lavender Hill Mob, but never got around to it.
