 Hot Summer Nights  Quote: Hot Summer Nights is an American drama film directed and written by Elijah Bynum, in his directorial debut. It stars Timothée Chalamet, Maika Monroe, Alex Roe, Maia Mitchell, William Fichtner and Thomas Jane. Set in Cape Cod in the summer of 1991, the plot follows a teenage boy who becomes entangled in the world of drugs.
The film premiered at South by Southwest on March 13, 2017. It was released on June 28, 2018, through DirecTV Cinema before being released in a limited release on July 27, 2018, by A24.

Re: Hot Summer Nights This is a pretty solid flick. Nothing special, but I enjoyed it enough for the Scorsese lite tone and the fact that it's just an entertaining flick throughout. Also, after seeing this I definitely want to check out more flicks starring Chalamet.

Re: Hot Summer Nights I thought it was great. Very stylish and fun. The director is one to watch. Loved the soundtrack. The only real issue for me is the ending, which is pretty bad. But it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment.

Re: Hot Summer Nights This has all the elements to be great but somehow ends up being predictable and just another teen-drug movie. Elijah Bynum keeps things interesting but the story and screenplay do not have enough weight. The three leads do well specially Roe and Chalamet. I found Monroe's character pretty one dimensional and I have no idea why the storm was important to the story.
