 Hudson Hawk Hudson Hawk Quote: Hudson Hawk is a 1991 American action comedy film directed by Michael Lehmann. Bruce Willis stars in the title role and also co-wrote the story. Danny Aiello, Andie MacDowell, James Coburn, David Caruso, Lorraine Toussaint, Frank Stallone, Sandra Bernhard, and Richard E. Grant are also featured.
The live action film makes heavy use of cartoon-style slapstick, including sound effects, which enhances the movie's signature surreal humour. The plot combines material based on conspiracy theories, secret societies, and historic mysteries, as well as outlandish "clockpunk" technology à la Coburn's Our Man Flint movies of the 1960s.
A recurring plot device in the film has Hudson and his partner Tommy "Five-Tone" (Aiello) singing songs concurrently but separately, to time and synchronize their exploits. Willis-Aiello duets of Bing Crosby's Swinging on a Star and Paul Anka's Side by Side feature on the film's soundtrack.

Re: Hudson Hawk i caught the excitement, i caught the adventure, i caught the hawk. a misunderstood gem that was just too crazy and batshit insane for the mass audience. they really don't make movies like this anymore  A+

Not a bad film. It's certainly a little odd at times, but on the whole it's a fun ride. Bruce Willis is a cat burglar (when did people stop using the word 'thief'?) that is being forced to steal three works of art in order to reunite the three pieces of a 3D star made by Leonardo Da Vinci. Richard E. Grant co-stars, and while he overacts, he was pretty entertaining. Andie McDowell plays the love interest and I still can't really see why everybody fell ass over tit for her in the 90s - she's pleasant looking, but the curly hair makes her look old. James Coburn gives a memorable performance, and Frank Stallone plays a mobster too, but to little effect.
I liked the quips by Bruce throughout, quite funny. Also how he gives song times for the Sinatra songs that he's supposedly listened to over and over again in prison. I'm glad I watched this - It's a good addition to Bruce's filmography.
